Sharron G. Blinzler (Shary) passed away unexpectedly at her home in Liberty Lake, WA on January 7, 2017 of natural causes. Shary was born to Robert and Florence Crook of Northport, WA on August 9, 1951, just 7 minutes after her twin brother Randy. She spent her school years and graduated high school in Garfield, Washington. She was married to James Blinzler (Jim) a short time later, and together they had two children, Robert (Rob) and Rhonda. The couple later divorced.
Shary spent the last 27 years working for URM Food Service, most recently as their Marketing Director. She was set to retire on March 10 and was so excited to experience and enjoy the next chapter in her life that she had worked so hard for. She had numerous professional accomplishments and had forged many special friendships from her years at URM.
She was very active and loved to be outdoors spending much of her free time going for walks, working in her yard, skiing, biking and lake kayaking. She loved to spend time recreating and "porch sitting" at her daughter's cabin in Cascade, ID and at similar places of friends.
Shary was extremely creative and when indoors, was always known to be sewing or working on a building or remodeling project. She mastered countless skills and had a collection of tools to be envied by the most dedicated DIY'er.
Her friends and family describe her as having a beautiful soul, being vibrant and full of life, never afraid of any challenge and approaching life with incredible determination, and tenacity. She was a dear and lifelong friend to many.
Survivors include her son Rob, daughter Rhonda and son-in-law Steve Garland, grandchildren Cole and Caela, her brothers Randy, Tom and his wife Pat Crook and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and many special aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21st at 11:00 am at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA with reception immediately following, for family and friends, at Darcy's Restaurant, 10502 E Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Shary's name to The American Heart Association.
