Sandra (Sandi) Jean Anders

Sandra passed away at Sacred Heart Medical Center on November 28, 2016 from respiratory arrest during her battle with lung cancer at the age of 70. Sandi was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, family member, and an employer of hundreds. She was born in Booneville, AR on 10/23/46 to Hershel Kerr & JoElla Kerr (Roberts). Sandra and her former husband opened the first Burger King in Spokane at Division & Francis in the mid 70's where she trained many people and helped them become better employees. She later owned and operated a dry cleaning establishment in town. In 1984, she met her present husband Peter. They were married in 1987. Sandi became the step mother to Peter's kids, Robin, Brian, and Kristen, who loved her dearly through the years. Sandi was an outstanding cook and seamstress-this became quite evident in all the things she managed to accomplish for family and friends. Peter, Sandi, and the family had wonderful trips to Priest Lake for fishing and relaxation. Fishing was a grand event for Sandi and she and her husband made several trips to most of the lakes in the region with their boat & puppy (Toby) during the years. In 1991, Peter and Sandi opened a pizza restaurant, but due to medical issues, it had to be sold. In 2006 and 2007, Peter and Sandi drove across the nation in order to visit relatives, Pete's USAF friends, and high school buddies for a total of 7500 miles (a very enjoyable three months on the road). Sandi taught us all how to love all and draw strength from within ourselves. She leaves behind her husband Peter Anders, her daughter Cheryl (Jeff) Tower, step-son Brian (Suzanne) Anders, step-daughters Robin (Matt) Cox, Kristen (Joel) Milton, a total of twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was the daughter-in-law to Merrilee Rutter of Chattaroy,WA. She is survived by her sisters LouElla Baker, Bonnie Bundy, & brother Dale Kerr all of N.Carolina. Sandi was preceded in death by her son Chris Rutter, brothers Hershel Kerr and Allen Kerr, and sister, Jewel Driggers. There will be no service at Sandi's request and any donations would be appreciated to either Shriners Hospital or St Jude's Childrens Hospital. A family memorial will be held at a later date in the spring. On-line condolences may be posted at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com.
