Sorenson
Carol Jean (Myhres)
Age 85

With heavy hearts we lay to rest a beautiful soul whose love and generous spirit will forever live on through those who knew her. Carol was born on a farm in Arlington South Dakota to Henry and Edna Myhres. As a young woman she fell in love with a handsome farm boy, Leif Sorenson. They married and had their first daughter, Gail. Setting aside the farm life, they decided to move to Spokane to venture into business with Leif's brother Steve. Two years later they welcomed their second daughter Dawn. They bought their home in 1957, and continued to live there the rest of their lives. Carol worked for many years at The Crescent, and continued to see the "Crescent bunch" for breakfast on a regular basis. She enjoyed the company of dear friends and neighbors, many of whom stayed close over decades. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, made quilts for the needy and delivered for Meals on Wheels. She traveled across the country to car auctions with her husband Leif, and loved watching Gonzaga basketball. Carol's greatest joy in life was her family, all of which remained in or near Spokane. She was a wonderful role model for her daughters and a huge part of her grandsons and great-grandsons lives. She made delicious pies, waffles and "Gram jam", which will be fondly remembered along with the beautiful sweet lady that made them. Her life was rich with family love and support; her circle of love fulfilled her. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Leif and sister Leona. She is survived by her daughters Gail Sorenson (Lawrence Killingsworth) and Dawn DeHan (Louis); her grandsons Seth Stoner (Aimee) and Samuel Stoner (Mychal Ferger); and her great grandsons Macson and Nash Stoner. The family would like to thank Pastor Mike for officiating at a private family memorial.
