Ann Catherine Hueber passed away on December 6, 2016, following a long battle with breast cancer. Ann was born in Waterloo, Iowa and spent her early years in Cleveland, Ohio. When she was in high school, her family moved to Spokane when her father began teaching at Gonzaga University. Ann graduated from Holy Names Academy, attended Gonzaga University, and graduated from Seattle University. She later earned a Master's Degree in Chemistry from Eastern Washington University. She was a former nun in the Sisters of Charity of Providence Order. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Laurayne Hueber, her sister-in-law Kellie Hueber, and brother-in-law Dale Pattee. Ann is survived by her brother Paul Hueber (Robin), sister Mary Pattee, brother Carl Hueber (Christy), uncle Dennis Hueber (Dianne), and longtime friend Mark Difford, and many nieces and nephews. She retired after 42 years of service with Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories. She started as a medical technologist specializing in chemistry and later became PAML's Immunology Supervisor. In 1978, PAML bought its first computer, and Ann was selected to ensure it could be utilized within the lab. Ann was PAML's first Data Processing Manager. She continued her work in IT, and she served on several national health advisory boards. Ann's interest in scuba diving and underwater photography took her on dives throughout the world. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting. Ann was a bright, witty, independent woman, with a thirst for adventure. She will be missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Joni Nichols and Cancer Care Northwest, Hospice of Spokane, and the staff at Rockwood South Retirement Communities for their compassionate help and support. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Hospice of Spokane. Ann's funeral Mass will be held on Saturday December 17, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the University Chapel at Gonzaga University (3rd floor of College Hall), 502 E. Boone Avenue. Following the service, there will be a Celebration of Life reception and lunch at Hemmingson Center, 702 E. Desmet Avenue on Gonzaga's campus. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at
